painted en plein air

It was pea soup foggy as I drove early to Sandra's house for a day of painting. Plein air is Sandra's specialty and I'm learning to catch the essence of the scene before it slips away. It was a perfect morning as the fog rose to reveal the distant hills. The light was incredible!

Nice ambient light and atmospheric effect.
Thanks for liking my plein air painting!
I'm fairly new to the "paint it quick" technique. I usually spend hours on a painting, using ever smaller brushes as it progresses. But the technique of capturing just the right color and putting it down quickly is energizing and fun.
Again, thanks for the kind words. They have boosted my confidence for painting more canvases like this one! :o)
