This red toned canvas was intended to carry an abstract portrait. Instead it prefered to hold a river winding its way through another world - reflecting the red sky.

We have sunsets just like this on the west coast. We are actually on the east coast of Vancouver Island. We call them mauve nights.
To quote a song ..."There are so many colors in the rainbow, so many colors in the morning sun, so many colors in the flowers...and I see every one."
I like to think that I'm an observer of all these colors. And I try to put them on canvas as best I can.
Thanks for letting me know that I came close to catching an actual Vancouver sunset!
